2016 was fun. We got the layered look locked down, took our ear game to the next level, perfected the all-gray outfit, and ended our search for the best red nail polish.

Will 2017 top that? Here’s what to expect.

If trends from SS17 Fashion Week are any indication, asymmetry will be sticking around for a while. And while the mismatched earring trend isn’t going anywhere, lopsided lobes will look a bit different—edgier—in 2017, thanks to the single statement earring. Also on our list of trends to watch out for in 2017: cuff bracelets over sleeves, strings of pearls paired with military style jackets, the statement necklace, and the art gallery earring. Chokers, both oversize and shoestring-like, are slated to have another big year. And although the multiple earring trend isn’t new, this year, it’s all about hoops.

Out of all the trends to watch out for in 2017, none has the wearability of tiny gold hoops. Micro hoops, or huggie hoops, are small hoops (anywhere from 8mm to 15mm in diameter) that hug the ear, hence the name. Their close fit makes them ideal for stacking—a style move that looks just as good with an oversize graphic hoodie as it does with a crop top and tulle midi skirt. Huggie hoops are available in a myriad of styles and finishes, and many are embellished with gemstones, crystals, pearls and other decorations.

A curated ear very much tells a story, and that’s perhaps why the trend resonates so well with people. We love hoops as a medium for creating personalized stories. They’re sculptural in nature, incredibly versatile, and there’s a nostalgic quality to them.

Whether you’re starting from square one, or just wanting to switch your starting lineup, we’ve got hoops for every style and personality.
